25 students from Albany County School District #1 (ACSD) will be participating in Shop With a Cop on Friday, December 18.
Officers from the Laramie Police Department, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Albany County Sherriff’s Office, and University of Wyoming Police Department will team up for the event.
These students will be picked up from their schools by an officer in a patrol car and driven to Walmart, where they will shop with an officer and have $100 to spend as they wish.
The goal of the event is to provide the children with both a happy holiday season and a positive interaction with the local law enforcement agencies.

The Albany County School District is looking for feedback from parents, teachers, staff, and administrators on three proposed calendars for the 2022-23 academic school year. Below is a summary of the differences between each calendar and here is a link to a short, four-question survey about the calendars. Additionally, here is a link to the look at the proposed calendars.
Option “A” moves the September and April Professional Development (PD) days from Mondays to Fridays. The new PD days would be Sept. 30 and April 7. Option “A” also has the standard two weeks for Winter Break, spanning from Monday, Dec. 19, through Friday, Dec. 30. Since New Year’s Day is on a Sunday, school would resume on Monday, Jan. 2.
