A 31-year-old Pennsylvania man has been arrested on illegal weapon charges according to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple.
Apple says at approximately 2:52 a.m. on Sunday, deputies stopped a speeding vehicle on Route 9W in the City of Albany. While speaking with the driver Marjus Planku of Philadelphia, deputies detected the order of marijuana in the vehicle. A subsequent search found a Ruger 9mm pistol located in a backpack, loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition.
It was determined that Planku possessed the loaded handgun without a New York State license, or any type of permit in any other state.
