NEW YORK - A 15-year-old girl was fatally shot in Albany, police said.
Officers responded to a report of gunfire on Wilbur Street at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, Albany police said in a news release.
Shortly after, a staff member at Albany Memorial Hospital notified police that Destiny Greene, 15, of suburban Latham, had been brought to the emergency room with a gunshot wound.

ALBANY - A 15-year-old Latham girl is dead after the latest shooting in Albany.
It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Monday on Wilbur Street. Right after officers responded to a report of shots fired just east of Philip Street, they got a call that a young woman arrived in the emergency room at Albany Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound. She later died.
Police identified the victim as Destiny Greene. She was a student at Shaker High School.

Investigators say someone shot her during the Wilbur Street incident. Police Chief Eric Hawkins says she was not the intended target. He says she was with a group that was there as some sort of meet-up organized on social media when the shots rang out.
Albany police are investigating another shooting. Police say around 4 p.m. Monday, they were called to Clinton Avenue just east of Lexington Avenue for shots fired.

ALBANY Police said they are investigating a shooting that happened on Central Avenue near the intersection of North Lake Avenue early Sunday morning.
Albany police said they received a call for gunshots at 1 p.m., at about the same time a 33-year-old man entered the emergency department with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Police said the man s injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
