ALPENA No COVID-19 patients are hospitalized at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena, according to data released by the state on Thursday.
For the first time since The News began tracking state hospital data in November, the Alpena hospital has no infected patients, the state reported. As of Thursday, the hospital was 39% full.
The hospital reached a high of 22 COVID-19 patients on Dec. 3, six of whom were in intensive care. According to data released by the state, MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena averaged 17 patients per day in December and eight patients per day in January.
As of Thursday, 15 people were hospitalized with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 infection across the state-designated, 18-county health care region that includes Alpena, Presque Isle, and Montmorency counties, according to state data.
