TIRANA, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) The number of passengers traveling by air in 2020 in Albania decreased by 60.7 percent year-on-year, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said in a report on Wednesday.
According to the report, a total of 1,310,614 passengers traveled by air from and to Tirana International Airport, the country s only airport.
On Tuesday, the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority said in its monthly bulletin that in 2020 aviation was the sector hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic, reducing significantly the number of flights and air passengers.
According to INSTAT, the number of sea passengers also decreased in 2020 by 75.9 percent year-on-year to 379,084.
