Plumber who lost plot jailed for assault after parking place row Assailant struck victim with poker, threatened to destroy house and car during quarrel Mon, Feb 15, 2021, 21:05   A 46-year-old plumber has been jailed for three years for striking another man with a poker and threatening to destroy his house and car during a row over a parking space. Gavin Craven from Glenfield Avenue, Ballyvolane, Co Cork, also claimed to be a member of the IRA during the incident. He pleaded guilty on Monday at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to assault causing harm to a man at Liffey Park, Mayfield, in early August 2020, contrary to section three of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

Woman injured in alleged assault in Dublin dies in hospital

A woman who was stabbed and seriously injured in Dublin last month while on her way home from work has died. Mother-of-two Urantsetseg Tserendorj (48), who was originally from Mongolia but had worked and lived in Ireland for several years passed away this morning. She suffered life-threatening knife wounds following the alleged assault and attempted robbery in the capital’s financial district on January 20. At around 9.30pm, while on her way to meet her husband after finishing work, she was stabbed near Custom House Quay, in the IFSC, Dublin 1. Ms Tserendorj was rushed to the Mater Hospital where she was treated for her injuries but sadly passed away this morning.

  A woman who was critically ill in hospital since an alleged stabbing two weeks ago in Dublin’s north inner city has died in hospital. The victim, 48-year-old Urantsetseg Tserendorj, was from Mongolia but was living and working in Dublin. She worked as an office cleaner in the city and was a married mother of two. A 14-year-old boy has been charged in relation to the attack. He appeared before Judge Bryan Smyth at Dublin District Court last week, while Ms Tserendorj was still fighting for her life. He was charged with assault causing harm contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.

The pair, a 16-year-old boy and a youth, now aged 18, but a juvenile at the time of the incident, appeared before Judge Brendan Toale at the Dublin Children’s Court today. They were charged with assault causing harm to a named boy at the detention centre in Lusk in north Co Dublin, on 24 May last year. Neither has yet said how he will plead.
