New Delhi, Feb 10 : The Enforcement Directorate has arrested C.C. William Verghese, Chairman and Managing Director of BRD Group, in connection with a cheating case. A PMLA court sent him to seven days ED custody.
An ED official said that Verghese was arrested from Thrissur district in Kerala on February 8 under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ED registered a case on the basis of FIR filed by Kerala Police.

MUMBAI: Ten Nepalese nationals have been arrested here for procuring Aadhaar cards fraudulently, the police said on Wednesday.
Unit-11 of the Mumbai police s crime branch on February 2 had arrested an operator and agent of an Aadhaar card facilitation centre in suburban Borivali, an official said.
During interrogation, the investigators found that they had helped foreign nationals including those from Nepal and Bangladesh and also some Non Resident Indians (NRIs) obtain Aadhaar cards by using bogus documents.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested C. C. William Verghese, chairman-cum-managing director of BRD Group in Thrissur, Kerala, in connection with money laundering. It has got his seven-day custody.
The ED probe is based on the FIRs registered at the Kunnamkulam police station, on complaints from people alleging that Mr. Verghese and others lured them into investing money in various companies promoted by him, including BRD Finance Limited, BRD Securities Limited, BRD Motors Limited. The entities promised 18% returns per annum, they alleged.
