The dispute at 151 Butler Lane involved parking and locks on the doors, according to New Canaan Police.
Tenants at the “South of the Y” neighborhood home, whose testimony helped police secure an arrest warrant charging Catherine Palmer with three counts of cruelty to animals, also are central in an ongoing custody dispute for 12 seized dogs.

Three bobcats were spotted this week on Marvin Ridge Road the sixteenth sighting of the species this year, according the to New Canaan Police Department’s Animal Control section.
The trio likely is composed of a mother bobcat and her two kittens, Officer Allyson Halm said.
“There is a lot of good habitat,” Halm said, referring to the Hoyt Swamp, which runs between Marvin Ridge Road and Route 123 just north of the Merritt Parkway. “They tend to hide away, though sightings seem to be more common now.”

Board of Ethics Chair
Tucker Clauss during a regular meeting Monday reported that the group received by mail a one-page anonymous ethics complaint with a photograph. In filing anonymously, the complainant was out of compliance with New Canaan’s ordinance, Clauss said, though he clearly had studied the
Code of Ethics because he cited a specific provision in it. Ultimately, the matter was resolved through an informal conversation with the subject of the complaint, Clauss said. Clauss aded that he later discovered the complainant had talked to other town officials about the matter, in violation of state and local confidentiality laws.

NEW CANAAN, CT Custody of a dozen dogs at the center of a New Canaan animal cruelty investigation has been awarded temporarily to the town, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.
The town s Animal Control Unit seized the animals from a New Canaan home last month, after Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm found them living under poor conditions, according to authorities.
Halm and town officials this week convinced a superior court judge that the conditions the dogs were found in warranted seizure for their protection. Police said the dogs now are doing fine.
