HOPEDALE The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 9 p.m. on Harrison County Road 5 near Township Road 59 in Green Township.
According to OSHP reports, Michael G. Tolar, 33, was operating a silver 2005 Chrysler Town & Country minivan eastbound on Harrison County Road 5 when attempting to follow a left curve of the roadway.
The vehicle drove off the right edge of the road and struck a guardrail causing it to overturn down an embankment. As the vehicle rolled, Tolar was ejected, causing fatal injuries.
An unknown female passenger in the vehicle was initially transported to Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, West Virginia and subsequently life flighted to Allegheny General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The female passenger’s condition is unknown at this time.
Four days later, the breast cancer survivor underwent her annual mammogram.
âThey always say, âWeâll call you if we see anything unusual,ââ said Lynn. âI got a phone call the next day and they asked if I could come back in. They wanted to do an ultrasound because of issues with the lymph nodes on the left side. I got an appointment for about two weeks later, and as a breast cancer survivor, I worried the whole time.â
At the followup exam, Lynnâs doctor was puzzled.
âShe said, âIâve looked at your old films and your recent ones, and I canât explain it, but there was something going on in January but thereâs not now,ââ Lynn recalled.
