Black Ops: Cold War was released on all major video game consoles. It quickly became the best-selling game of 2020, the best-selling game of the month for each month up to the time of this article’s writing and the 20th best-selling game in the history of US recorded game sales.
The game’s initial marketing featured a flashy teaser trailer with news clips intercut with footage of Soviet KGB informant, defector and conspiracy theorist Yuri Bezmenov (1939-1993). In the clips, Bezmenov claims the USSR had in-depth plans for subverting other countries, in particular the US. The trailer makes sure to emphasize the supposed historical inspiration for the campaign (i.e., the game’s story mode) with the tagline, “Know your history or be doomed to repeat it.”

As players took to social media to lament the fact that the servers were again having issues with Activision responding from its various support accounts to confirm that there is indeed an outage going on and that the problem is being looked into. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War servers went down Friday morning, and now Activision is once again hit with another connectivity outage as of Tuesday. The publisher announced the event via its official Online Services page Tuesday afternoon, and the issue has yet to be formally resolved.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s latest teaser shared this week appears to be hinting at a larger Zombies crossover event that’ll take place across Verdansk. The zombies on the battle royale map so far have only been limited to the Shipwreck point of interest, but the teaser showing a faux news report shows the undead leaving that area. This sort of teaser also coincides neatly with some of the leaks we’ve seen recently that suggested an all-out war between
Warzone combatants and zombies may be coming.
The latest teaser shared by the official Call of Duty account showed a “news” segment where a reporter was on the scene above the Shipwreck location to keep an eye on the zombies. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 continues the storyline of Zombie mode. The outbreak started during the Firebase Z event from the Season 1 Reloaded update. The story then developed and moved to the Ural mountains of Russia. The Outbreak continues with the research behind the origins of the Dark Aether.
