He retweeted a number of posts from fans proving that the song wasn t working on several streaming services, though Billboard contends the song isn t being taken down at all.

Picture this: Lil Nas X, rapper and social media sensation, slides down a pole into a glamorous, hypersexual version of hell as Fox News pundits watch in horror.
That’s the power of his new single and music video, “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name),” which features the rapper twerking in Satan’s lap.
“MONTERO” itself is a poppy hip hop ode to a former love. It’s sweet, catchy and overtly gay, which is nearly unheard of in the hip hop scene. The music video, by contrast, subverts traditional Christian themes like the Garden of Eden and original sin with sensual, stylized imagery. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on March 26 and has been smashing records and drawing criticism ever since.
Currently, there’s no public explanation for the song’s disappearance, but Lil Nas X does have some solutions for those missing out. For starters, he suggests that everybody screen records the audio and video on YouTube: “So you will have the song in your gallery worst case scenario.”

On the other hand, fans may soon be able to pop over to Pornhub to stream the track. In another tweet, he adds: “Since ‘Call Me By Your Name’ is no longer working on many streaming services I will be uploading the audio to Pornhub at 3pm EST.”
Lil Nas X announced Montero (Call Me By Your Name) will be available on Pornhub, after the hit was briefly taken down from streaming platforms.
The Old Town Road hitmaker s fans took to Twitter to share their dismay that the song was no longer working on apps such as Apple Music and Spotify on Tuesday (13.04.21).
And while the issue has seemingly been resolved now, the 22-year-old star told his 6.2 million followers that the adult site will now host the song.
Nas X originally tweeted: not even joking. everybody stream call me by your name hard today because it may no longer be available tomorrow and thereâs nothing i can really do about it. thanks for all the support tho! (sic)
