“Bloxk Party” artist Sada Baby made the comments after hearing about fellow rapper DMX’s current condition. He is currently in intensive care after suffering a heart attack due to an alleged drug overdose.
With the 50-year-old’s prognosis looking grim, Sada Baby took the opportunity to ask God why he didn’t inflict this suffering on Lil Nas X instead.
“Lord we said Nas X, not DMX,” he wrote in an Instagram story on Sunday (4 April), alongside a facepalming emoji.
Sada Baby quickly took the post down, but not before it sparked outrage among hip hop fans who slammed him for homophobia.

Update 04/06/2021 4:50pm:
Sada Baby took to Instagram to address the backlash he received after he shared a post that read, Lord we said Nas X, not DMX. Lil Nas X responded to the post, stating, This is so f up omg, and then telling people to go stream his new single, Montero (Call Me By Your Name).
Sada Baby explained that he wasn t really wishing death on Lil Nas X, adding that he didn t support Lil Nas X s video, where he slides down a pole and gives Satan a lapdance. Sada Baby added that he thinks Lil Nas X shouldn t be making a video like that when he has a large fanbase of kids looking up to him. He also took issue with the satan shoes that Nike blocked. Call Me By Your Name author André Aciman says it is “gratifying” and “humbling” that his gay novel could have the “slightest influence” on how Lil Nas X decided to name his hit song.
“Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” has taken the world by storm, inspiring countless memes and classic TikTok videos. The unapologetically gay song drew 46.9 million US streams and sold 21,000 downloads in its first week, according to MRC Data, and attracted 1.1 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending 4 April.
Lil Nas X’s hit has also reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts on Monday (5 April), less than two weeks after its debut.
