GULF BREEZE Mediacom Communications is participating in the federal government’s Emergency Broadband Benefit Program designed to help families and individuals struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The EBBP is a temporary program being administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It provides eligible new or current customers with up to $50 off their monthly internet service bill. Program eligibility is defined by the FCC.
“Mediacom’s participation in the FCC’s Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is one more way we ensure that reliable broadband is available to families and individuals who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mediacom Senior Vice President Ed Pardini. “In all Mediacom service areas, our team will encourage eligible individuals and families to use this temporary benefit to stay connected to loved ones, and to access online education,

A Kentucky non-profit organization promoting broadband access for all is pleased with the FCC opening enrollment in a new program for low-income Americans.
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (KT) â A Kentucky-based national non-profit organization that promotes increasing broadband access for all is applauding the Federal Communications Commission for opening enrollment in a new program for low-income Americans on Wednesday.
The FCC has begun taking applications for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, which provides discounted broadband internet and related services to qualifying households.

JACKSON, Tenn. Charter Communications is joining the FCC’s in expanding broadband connection.
In a news release, Charter says it will be apart of the $3.2 billion Emergency Broadband Benefit Program.
Through this program, Charter says households could receive credit of up to $50 a month $75 on Tribal Lands for Spectrum Internet Plans.
Charter adds that with Spectrum Internet, there are no modem fees, data caps, or contracts, and there are no contracts.
“Charter has a long track record of increasing connectivity through expanding broadband access, adoption and affordability,” said Catherine Bohigian, Charter Executive Vice President, Government Affairs. “Through our participation in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, we are further breaking down barriers to connectivity for American families, as part of our long-term commitment to advance access and improve broadband adoption.”
