Ottawa sees lowest one-day increase in new cases since April 1

  OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting 146 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Saturday, the lowest one-day increase in new cases since April 1. Two new deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported in Ottawa. Since the first case of COVID-19 in Ottawa on March 11, 2020, there have been 23,086 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa, including 488 deaths. The 146 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday is the lowest one-day increase in cases in Ottawa since April 1, when 116 new cases of COVID-19 were reported. The Ontario government implemented the province-wide emergency break on April 3, which included prohibiting indoor and outdoor dining and restricting capacity for in-person shopping. On April 8, Ontario imposed a province-wide stay-at-home order, which included closing all non-essential businesses for in-person shopping.

COVID-19 update – Hastings Prince Edward Public Health

Close to 125,000 swab tests have been completed in the Quinte region by the health unit, paramedics and at COVID-19 assessment centres in Quinte West, Belleville, Prince Edward County and North Hastings. Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reports that 55,720 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered locally so far (45,188 first doses and 3,582 individuals are fully-vaccinated.) Public health is asking parents to continue to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms daily (an online COVID-19 screening tool is available on the provincial government’s website.)

254 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Friday; weekly incidence rate continues to fall

  OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting a second consecutive day with more than 200 new cases of COVID-19, following two days with less than 200 cases. The Ottawa Public Health COVID-19 dashboard is showing 254 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Friday, and no new deaths linked to the virus. Since the first case of COVID-19 on March 11, 2020, there have been 22,940 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa, including 486 deaths. The 254 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Friday follows 281 new cases on Thursday, 181 new cases on Wednesday and 186 cases on Tuesday. Ottawa Public Health data shows Ottawa s weekly incidence rate dropped to 170 cases per 100,000 on Friday. It was 222 cases per 100,000 last weekend.  The positivity rate also decreased from 11.7 per cent to 10.9 per cent for the period of April 16 to 22.
