Another day with new cases reported across the Quinte region

We’re closing out the work with another round of new cases across the region. Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting three new COVID-19 cases. One case is travel-related, the other is outbreak-related and the last new case is a close-contact. There are now a total of 13 active cases, as the region remains in the green-zone. 4 active cases in Belleville 3 active cases in Tyendinaga & Deseronto (2 of those on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory) 2 active cases in Prince Edward County 1 active case in Quinte West 1 active case in Centre Hastings The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte announced today that one person who recently tested positive for COVDI-19 has died. That is the first COVDI-19 related death on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory since the start of the pandemic in March.

February 16, 2021 By Kristena Schutt-Moore Dr. Piotr Oglaza, the medical officer of health and CEO of Hastings Prince Edward Public Health made an announcement on Feb. 8 in regards to the health unit moving back into the Green-Prevent level of the provincial reopening framework on Wednesday. Feb. 10. In order to enhance the protection to the community, Dr. Oglaza has implemented the following restrictions in addition to the provincial Green Zone restrictions: • Bookings for accommodation, personal service settings, and dine-in food services shall be accepted only for individuals residing in regions where Stay at Home Order has been lifted (exceptions will include booking accommodation for individuals who are travelling to our region for essential reasons as defined by the Ontario’s Stay at Home Order).
