At their AGM for the foundation, they announced more than $1.86 million for students. The money raised goes to support the Good Backpack Program, Prom Project, Bring Your Own Device, Food For Learning, the Len and Olive Black Memorial Fund, Food For Home, and the Student Emergency Fund. Foundation Executive Director Maribeth deSnoo says their programs have a direct impact on students. Kyle reelected HPEDSB Chair, revised financial estimates passed

Hastings Prince Edward District School Board Trustee Lucille Kyle The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board of Trustees held their annual meeting on Monday night. Trustee Lucille Kyle was reelected as Board Chair, while Trustee Jennifer Cobb was elected Vice-Chair. Trustees were reelected or elected to various committees during the meeting. Later during the meeting, Superintendent of Business Services Nick Pfeiffer presented a report showing some revised estimates for the HPEDSB that have the school board finishing the year with an accumulated $6.9 million surplus. He said the slight surplus which was projected for this year has disappeared because of the pandemic and HPEDSB is now looking at a 1.8% deficit, or $3.4 million, due to COVID-19 responses in school.

Positive COVID-19 test at Queen Elizabeth School in Belleville

(Photo: David Foot / Quinte News) The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is reporting another positive COVID-19 case at a local elementary school. In a Tweet on Monday afternoon, the board says a person at Queen Elizabeth School has tested positive, but that “no transmission is suspected”, this is considered a low-risk situation and the school remains open to students and staff. The board’s COVID-19 update web page shows the positive case being attributed to a student. Today’s positive case becomes that eighth active case of COVID-19 connected to a staff, or student within the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board.
