PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA The Prince William County Government will help pay the mortgages of some residents who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Housing Assistance Program will provide residents impacted by the pandemic with up to six months of mortgage assistance, according to a news release.
The program intends to help residents prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus, the news release said. The program is available to those who lost income due to the pandemic. The County s Emergency Housing Assistance Program has assisted to date 345 households with emergency housing assistance totaling over $3.5 million, said Joan Duckett, Assistant Director of Housing and Community Development. The program has provided mortgage, rent, and utility assistance for families that have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19.

Beyond the loss of power, the extreme cold weather has created a crisis of busted water pipes, low water pressure and even no service for some parts of the city.
The City of San Antonio is considering an emergency fund for repairs related to the winter storm including busted pipes and other utility damage. The San Antonio Water System is offering a relief plan to all customers who will only have to pay the lower of two bills. There is also an emergency order in place to try and prevent price gouging as residents seek repairs.
The pandemic has had a devastating impact on renters and homeowners in Orange County. To solve the looming housing crisis, the Orange County Housing and Community Development department coordinated with the towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough to pool housing funds and coordinate aid guidelines.

COLORADO, USA The money from the latest federal relief package for housing assistance will be available in Colorado this week, according to the state Department of Local Affairs (DOLA.)
Colorado will receive more than $385 million, with more than $137 million of that divided into portions for individual counties.
While there won t be a lapse in assistance from programs like Property Owner Preservation (POP), or the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP), there is a delay in getting the money out to people approved to receive it.

DENVER Employees in the Housing Division of the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) are trying to catch up with the thousands of rental assistance requests the office received in the first month of 2021.
The department oversees two rental assistant programs that help those impacted by the pandemic.
