DOLE turns over Php7M livelihood assistance, Php5M emergency employment to LDN s GIDA

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Mar. 17 Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III awarded P7,656,765.50 worth of livelihood assistance to 680 beneficiaries in  Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) in Lanao del Norte province during the 5 March 2021 joint meeting of the National and Regional Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (N/RTF-ELCAC) with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, this city. The check, under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), was turned over to the Accredited Co-Partner Paglingkawas Women Federation thru the President of the League of Municipalities in Lanao del Norte Kapatagan Mayor Barry Y. Baguio.

The Nego-Kart is a project of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) that aims to assist ambulant vendors in making their business more sustainable. Each mobile vending station costs at least P20,000. It has been a department staple even before the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic struck last year. Meanwhle, Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III also oversaw the local distribution of financial aid under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced workers (TUPAD), with the total dole out reaching P5.1 million.

Pandemic-affected workers in Batangas receive cash aid, Nego-Kart

MANILA BULLETIN FILE DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the beneficiaries in Batangas were among the more than P5.1 million of financial and livelihood assistance that were distributed to workers who were affected by the economic and social disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Of the P5.1 million, P2.9 million was allocated for informal sector workers displaced by the pandemic in the three municipalities in the province under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced workers (TUPAD) program. In Bauan, 300 workers received their P4,000 each for the 10-day cash-for-work project while 442 beneficiaries were also granted with the same cash aid in Lipa City.
