The Irish national flag will be flown at half-mast at state buildings as a ‘mark of respect’ to Prince Philip whose funeral takes place today. The Duke of Edinburgh died last week, aged 99, following a recent stint in hospital, and his funeral service will begin at 3pm at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle. Prince Philip’s coffin will be transported from the castle to the chapel in a modified Land Rover he helped to design, followed by Prince Charles and senior royals on foot.
