Rev. Professor Ian Bradley, the author of the book God Save the Queen, told Premier Christian News that the Duke was “extremely interested in theology” and “had a wonderful knowledge of the Bible.” Bradley said that Prince Philip used to take notes of the sermons and then asked the preachers challenging questions about them.

According to Page Six, the photograph was taken by Delevingne’s grandfather Edward, not long after their wedding. The newlyweds had met the future Duke of Edinburgh while on vacation in Italy. Poppy Delevingne, the English model’s sister also shared the photograph on Instagram with the caption: “A 17-year-old Prince Philip & my Grandmother in Venice, 1938. My cousins remember her saying ‘That after meeting him, she thought he’d make someone a very good husband one day.’ How right she was.”
