Social protection initiative expands list of basic commodities from 93 to 488

Muscat: Exempting all citizens whose monthly income is less than OMR 350 from the debts of the soft housing loan programme at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning was among the social protection initiatives approved by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said, The package of social protection initiatives approved by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik are:
1 - Enhancing the amount of support provided to the programmes of the Ministry of Social Development related to handling insolvent cases.

Muscat: The Minister of Social Development has appreciated the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik regarding launching social protection initiatives.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said, Her Excellency Laila bint Ahmed bin Awadh Al-Najar, The Minister of Social Development appreciates directives of His Majesty the Sultan regarding launching a package of social initiatives, which confirms His Majesty s keenness to touch conditions of citizens and the comprehensiveness of social protection for all groups of society, taking into account the living conditions in light of the current economic situation.

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on Wednesday issued a Royal Decree, No. 33/2021, on systems of retirement and social security.
Article (1) establishes a fund to be named “Social Security Fund”, to have a legal identity, enjoy financial and administrative independence and report to the Council of Ministers. Its system (bylaw) shall be issued under a Royal Decree.
Article (2) establishes a fund to be named “Military And Security Services Retirement Fund”, to have a legal identity, enjoy financial and administrative independence and report to the Council of Ministers. Its system (bylaw) shall be issued under Royal Decree.
Article (3) states that a committee to be formed under a decision by the Council of Ministers shall undertake the supervision of drafting necessary regulations and finalising all procedures related to transferring to the two funds stated in Articles (1) and (2) of this decree all the missions, specialisations/prerogatives, origins, rig
HM receives thanks from Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has received a cable of thanks from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in reply to His Majesty s condolences cable to him on the death of Prince Badr Fahd Saud Al Kabeer Al Saud.
In the cable, King Salman expressed his thanks for His Majesty the Sultan s good feelings and sincere prayers, praying to the Almighty Allah to rest the deceased s soul in peace in paradise and protect His Majesty against all harms.
