About 1,006 parcels of land have already been issued until the end of March, under this scheme, and the remaining will be assigned during the rest of the year. Explaining the intention behind providing housing plots to Omanis, a representative from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning said, “We have sought to find suitable alternatives to the issues of increasing demand for residential land, and reduce the amount of time people spend waiting for their turn to be given their plots.”

By: Times News Service Muscat: More than 1,000 commercial activities have been exempted from government licensing fees. Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority has confirmed that the total commercial activities that were exempted from government licensing fees amounted to 1,088 activities among the targeted sectors. The authority stated that the exemptions were approved based on the high directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik. The exemptions came within the package of facilities and incentives for owners of small and medium enterprises during the year 2021 to mitigate the effects of the spread of the Corona pandemic on these institutions. The exemptions included the sectors targeted by Oman Vision 2040, such as manufacturing industries, agricultural and fisheries wealth, service and logistical activities - tourism and transportation-.
