The new infections broke the state s streak of no community transmission since December 3. New South Wales Health has issued an alert to several Northern Beaches venues after two coronavirus cases were detected from the area on Wednesday afternoon.
The two infections – a woman in her 60s and a man in his 70s – are on top of an airport driver who returned a positive diagnosis after being tested on Tuesday.
Anyone who visited the venues – which include the Palm Beach female changerooms around 9am on December 13, and the Avalon Bowling Club on December 12 between 3pm and 5pm – are being considered close contacts.
