The new railings and Dylan inset RAILINGS by a canal in Newbury have been extended following the death of a young boy who fell into the water. A programme to improve water safety in Newbury has seen an extension to the railings at Victoria Park sluice on the Kennet & Avon Canal by waterways charity the Canal & River Trust. It comes after the tragic death of Dylan Milsom who drowned in the Kennet and Avon canal on a day out to Victoria Park with his family in Newbury on Saturday, March 13. During an inquest into his death, Ian Wade QC ruled the “dreadful” incident as an accident in which ‘no one was to blame’.
