By City News Service May 13, 2021 AZUSA (CNS) - An Arizona woman was in custody today for allegedly stabbing a mother who was playing with her children near an Azusa park, police said. The attack occurred about 8 p.m. Tuesday near Edwards Park, in the 600 block of North Azusa Avenue, according to the Azusa Police Department. Brianna Hallquist, 23, described by authorities as a transient from Phoenix, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats, according to police, with bail set at $1 million. Officers sent to the park on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon found the victim with a stab wound to her upper body.

Woman arrested for stabbing mother in front of her two young children at park By Mary Stringini AZUSA, Calif. - A woman was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly stabbing a mother who was at the park with her two young children in Azusa, police said. Brianna Hallquist, a 23-year-old transient from Phoenix, was arrested for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and criminal threats. Officers responded to the area near Edwards Park, located at 600 N. Azusa Avenue, around 7:55 p.m. Tuesday night and located the mother suffering from a stab wound in her upper torso area.  She told officers that she was playing with her two minor-aged children at the park when a woman, later identified as Hallquist, approached the children and began looking at them as they played. The mother said she became nervous and immediately left the park with her children, walking southbound on Azusa Ave.

Police pursuit ends in five-car crash in Glendora

Print Six people were injured, two of them seriously, when a police pursuit ended in a five-car crash Monday evening in Glendora, authorities said. At about 5:45 p.m., officers with the Azusa Police Department were pursuing an Acura Integra that had been reported stolen, said Officer Rodrigo Jimenez, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol’s Baldwin Park office. The car was headed south on Barranca Avenue in unincorporated Glendora when it crossed the center median and struck a Toyota Camry in the intersection of Barranca Avenue and Arrow Highway, Jimenez said. The collision caused a “chain reaction,” striking three more cars in the intersection, Jimenez said. The crash ejected the driver of the stolen car, who was not wearing a seatbelt, he said. The driver and the sole passenger in the car suffered major injuries and were taken to a hospital.
