25 HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. – Air Commandos came together to honor the top performers throughout Air Force Special Operations Command during the Outstanding Airmen of the Year and Annual Award winners banquet May 13, 2021. The banquet honored the best Airmen and civilians in AFSOC during 2020. Leadership from across the enterprise nominated the winners due to their commitment to excellence, both professionally and personally.
The 2020 AFSOC OAY and Annual Award recipients are:

Senior Airman Brett P. Stalboerger, 27th Special Operations Medical Support Squadron
Stalboerger filled a Technical Sergeant role for 6 months and provided IT support for four squadrons with 319 personnel all while managing over 1,400 pieces of equipment. The Senior Airman Below-The-Zone winner also drove the 27th Special Operations Medical Group IT help desk and resolved close to 400 incidents and alleviated over 24,000 errors. By JIM THOMPSON | The Northwest Florida Daily News | Published: May 4, 2021 WASHINGTON (Tribune News Service) Many airmen within the ranks of Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) are evil geniuses who are demonstrating the capability to improve the Hurlburt Field-headquartered special operations arm, their commander told a U.S. Senate subcommittee last week. Lt. Gen. James Slife made the lighthearted but serious remark during a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee s Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities. The hearing was convened largely to give the subcommittee s members a sense of how the nation s special operations forces are pivoting from the counterterrorism work that has dominated their mission for the past 20 years to the great power competition outlined in the latest national defense strategy. That strategic shift sees peer and near-peer adversaries like Russia and China as the dominant threats to U.S. security.
711th Human Performance Wing is leveraging data and collaboration to enable, enhance, sustain, and restore Airmen and Guardians throughout their career lifecycle.
Allvin received a full day of briefings and demonstrations by the 711th HPW’s Airman Systems Directorate and U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, including demonstrations of large-scale laboratory devices used to analyze and monitor human performance.
Allvin commended the work being done in the 711th HPW during a luncheon with members of the junior force as well as a ceremony in which he awarded select top-performing 711th HPW personnel with his personal military coins.
