The 1-265th is “a cohesive and combat-ready battalion of air defenders,” said Col. Sean T. Boyette, commander of the 164th ADA BDE, while commending Bellomo for his leadership. “Your leadership has provided them with the experience required to protect our State and Nation.”
It is no doubt Madovoy is assuming command of a truly experienced battalion. Soldiers with 1-265th ADA BN have honed their air defense skills through extensive training and an arduous operational schedule. In 2015-2016, they were the first National Guard unit mobilized to Afghanistan responsible for operating the Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) system. In 2019-2020, Bravo battery deployed
