The fire broke out near 4th Line and Highway 7 Tuesday afternoon, the Halton Hills Fire Department said in a tweet. A picture from the scene shared by the fire department showed visible flames in a garage structure. At around 6:20 p.m., firefighters said the blaze had been knocked down. No information has been provided so far about the person who died. It is not yet clear how the fire started. The fire marshal’s office said it will be investigating the origin and cause of the fire.

Investigators probing Saturday’s three suspicious fires in Stirling are asking for the public’s help in solving the case.
“We definitely are hoping to hear from more people,” said Bill Dickson, the civilian spokesperson for the Ontario Provincial Police East Region headquarters.

Emergency services, including Belleville firefighters, responded shortly before 2 a.m. to fires at a former gas station and an adjacent house on West Front Street. As fire crews fought those fires, they received word of another fire, this time in a cube van on River Valley Road in Quinte West.
One person is dead following a fire inside a residence in Toronto’s Oakwood-Vaughan neighbourhood Wednesday night. Shortly before 10 p.m., fire crews and police responded to a two-alarm house fire at Clovelly and Glenholme avenues. One person was found deceased inside the home, police said. Toronto Fire Services said the bulk of the fire has since been put out. Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal has been notified. “Deepest condolences to family, friends and all those impacted by the fatal fire on Clovelly Avenue tonight. Our Toronto fire investigators will work with Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal to determine the origin, cause and circumstances of this terrible fire,” Toronto fire Chief Matthew Pegg tweeted.
