Jan 3, 2021 A dog was brought to the Ontario County Humane Society yesterday after it was seen being pushed out of a car in the Wesley Road area. The dog was pushed out of an older-model gray four-door sedan. The witness was able to secure the dog and it was turned over to Humane Society officials. The hound mix was not injured. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Ontario County Humane Society or the Sheriff s Office.

South Bristol Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

Dec 15, 2020 A South Bristol man is facing an animal cruelty charge for leaving his pet rabbit outside to die in the cold. Fletcher Carter was arrested last week after the Ontario County Humane Society got a report from a neighbor that the rabbit, named Blue, appeared to be dead in his hutch. A vet determined the rabbit froze to death. The hutch had no bedding or protection from below freezing temperatures.

The Ontario County Humane Society says they were assisted by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office responding to an animal abuse complaint in the town of South Bristol. They responded to a residence on Gulick Road to check on the welfare of a domestic rabbit named ‘Blue’ in a rabbit hutch. The hutch didn’t have any bedding or protection from the weather. They say at the time it was snowing and the temperature was well-below freezing.
