It is Police Week

The North East Region Ontario Provincial Police is joining police services across Ontario and Canada in kicking off Police Week which honours and celebrates officers, civilian staff, and other service supporters. North-East Region Media Coordinator Acting Sergeant Phil Young, says this year Police Week runs from May 9th to 15th with the theme being “Working Together to Keep our Communities Safe.” He says local OPP will be highlighting how they work closely with the community online, especially during the pandemic. He adds the services are not able to host their usual programs such as safe bike rodeos and mall displays due to the lockdown but invite the public to visit the website online to find out more about the policing community.
