Georgian Bluffs council has postponed a decision on whether to ban motorized vehicles on the Cole’s Sideroad trail.
At its regular meeting on Wednesday, council chose to defer a decision on the proposed ban pending further investigation by staff, which will then provide more information to council. The decision to defer came after council went into closed session to discuss the matter during its online meeting.

Georgian Bluffs Mayor Dwight Burley said Thursday that an issue came up that has to be dealt with before a decision on the matter is finalized. He said he was unable to provide more information on what the issue was.

The Ministry of the Solicitor General announced the college’s closure in mid January, planning to replace the facility with 20 regional training centres.
The college, which has trained many thousands of firefighters over the decades, is to close March 31.
Following last month’s announcement, the Township of Augusta, near Brockville, passed a resolution calling on the province to reverse the decision and Ontario municipal councils to support its resolution.
