David Campbell Lawrence was unable to attend Sudbury court to deal with an impaired driving charge he received after his driving a vehicle into a Hanmer ditch.
That’s because Campbell Lawrence, 46, has since moved to Alberta and is currently receiving treatment, his lawyer, Berk Keaney, informed Ontario Court Justice Karen Lische.

The lawyer then entered a guilty plea on his client’s behalf to careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
“This is a gentleman who was living in Sudbury, but went out west for work opportunities,” Keaney said via Zoom link. “He came to the conclusion he is in need of some significant counselling. He has been in need of counselling for some time. He is in a new facility and expects to be in for a lengthy duration.”
