With gas prices spiking to $111.2 a litre this week among the highest in months in the region there is some consolation for motorists spending a small fortune to fill their gasoline tanks.
Two cents of every litre will at some point be returned to Quinte municipalities by the province to help pay down the cost of operating municipal transit systems, ultimately lowering the annual property tax bill for homeowners.
