The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles will resume its emissions testing program at the end of the month, three weeks after a cyberattack disrupted its online system.
The state contractor in charge of the emissions testing, Applus Technologies, said they would “have full service restored” by April 30.
Applus Technologies detected and stopped the cyberattack on March 30. Systems in eight states were shut down immediately as a precaution.
DMV officials said that new vehicles in the state can be registered without the required emissions test for now until the system goes back online.
From there, vehicles will be required to meet the state’s compliance standards for emissions.
