ISLAMABAD: The opposition members in the National Assembly on Tuesday protested the increase in power tariffs by Rs 1.95 per unit, demanding that the chair allow discussion on the issue on an adjournment motion already moved to the National Assembly Secretariat.
The two sides indulged in verbal clash on the issue before the House admitted the adjournment motion for discussion. “The government has dropped a bomb on the already inflation-stricken masses,” the adjournment motion moved by Naveed Qamar said, adding that the government’s decision would further increase inflation in the country. The adjournment motion pointed out that due to incompetence of the government, the circular debt has increased to Rs 2.3 trillion and is still rising.

SRINAGAR (Dunya News) - Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and the world over are observing the Indian Republic Day today (Tuesday) as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that India continues to deny them their inalienable right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, call for the observance of the Black Day was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum and other Hurriyat organizations.
The day was marked by a complete strike in occupied Kashmir and anti-India demonstrations and rallies in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan and world capitals to give a strong message to the world that India being usurper of Kashmiris’ fundamental rights has no right to observe the day in the occupied territory.

One pilot killed, another injured as Indian helicopter crashes in occupied Kashmir
KASHMIR (Dunya News) – After the incident of MiG-21 Bison fighter plane in Rajasthan, another Indian Army helicopter has crashed in Kathua district’s Lakhanpur near Jammu and Kashmir-Punjab border.
According to details, one pilot has been killed while another sustained severe wounds.
Kathua Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shailendra Mishra said, “The helicopter HAL Dhruv was coming from Pathankot and made a crash-landing in an Army area in the Lakhanpur belt of the district.”
