Israel Defense Forces Soldier Sues Ben & Jerry s For Not Selling His Favourite Ice-cream

On Monday, an Israel Defense Forces soldier sued the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for halting sales in the Israel-occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Calling the restriction a ‘new form of terrorism’ the IDF soldier registered his ice cream woes in an official complaint that accused the company Ben & Jerry’s ice cream of having a biased stance as it stopped what he described as “his favourite ice cream.” The complaint further stated that the “Israeli military forces sent him to make long and frequent trips by car in those territories, and often he buys ice cream in different companies”.

Landmark elections in the Occupied Palestinian territory
must be rescheduled soon and include East Jerusalem, three
UN independent human rights experts said in a statement on
Monday.
The first parliamentary and presidential
elections in 15 years were scheduled to take place in May
and July, respectively.
But they were postponed by
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on 29 April, amid
concerns about the ability to vote in East
Jerusalem.
Take all steps necessary
Expressing
their deep concern over the postponement, the UN experts
called on the Palestinian Authority and Israel “to take
all steps necessary within their power” to reschedule the

Three al-Masri family members who saw the munition approach spoke to Human Rights Watch. Four other al-Masri family members and a relative of a victim not from the family also spoke to Human Rights Watch about what they saw during, and immediately after, the attack. Human Rights Watch also spoke to three relatives of two of the people killed who were not from the al-Masri family, one of whom witnessed the aftermath of the attack.
Those interviewed said that the attack happened shortly after 6 p.m., when family members were packing processed barley into sacks to sell to a local trader, Mohammed Nusseir. A video showing the aftermath and photographs taken the next day show empty and overturned sacks of barley.
