Stuff, the alleged offending by the 70-year-old was said to have occurred in the early 1970s in Auckland and Christchurch, against three boys under the age of 16. Dixon was excused from appearing at his first District Court and High Court appearances due to his medical condition and because he lived in Palmerston North. He was jailed in 2014 for two years and two months after admitting two charges of inducing a 9-year-old to do an indecent act in 1973, according to Radio New Zealand.

A third man facing charges over alleged historical sex abuse at Auckland s Dilworth School has died.
Police confirmed a man charged as part of Operation Beverly - in which 100 alleged victims contacted police - has died.
As a consequence, any charges he faced will be withdrawn in due course, they said in a statement.

A police spokesperson said they were unable to comment on this person s identity as there were suppression orders. Police are aware that a man charged as part of Operation Beverly has died. As a consequence, any charges he faced will be withdrawn in due course. We are unable to comment further at this time.
The death follows that of another defendant, Rex Clarence McIntosh, who died earlier this week.
The first defendant to die was Richard Charles Galloway earlier this year.
They were among the nine men who have been charged as part of the police investigation into sexual abuse allegations at the century-old private Auckland boarding school for underprivileged boys.

Operation Beverly More than 100 former Dilworth students have made complaints, alleging historical sexual offending. The alleged offending occurred as far back as the 1970s and as recently as the early 2000s. To date, a total of nine men in their 60s and 70s have been charged with a number of sex and drugs charges, including alleged sexual violation, indecent assault, sexual exploitation and supplying drugs.

Graeme Charles Lindsay faces three charges of indecent assault.
Lindsay is one of nine men charged as part of Operation Beverly, the police operation into alleged offending at Auckland s Dilworth School between the 1970s and early 2000s.
