Tony McFadden, 34, of Rymers Lane, had pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court to breaking the restraining order on June 1 by attending a woman’s home. He also admitted damaging her window and having cannabis in his possession. At Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday, Recorder Michael Roques jailed him for two years and imposed a restraining order that will run indefinitely. VW driver admits A40 dangerous driving charge

Oxford Crown Court Picture: ED NIX A VW driver has admitted driving dangerously on the Oxford Bypass. Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Friday, Ben Cox, 23, of Argyle Road, Ealing, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving without insurance. He was behind the wheel of a 2003-plate VW Golf on the A40 Northern Bypass on June 4, 2021. Cox, who attended court via video link from Bullingdon prison, was remanded in custody by Judge Maria Lamb. The judge ordered pre-sentence reports but warned Cox the fact she was putting the case back for reports was not an indication of what sentence he would receive when he returned to court on August 20.

Suspended sentence for teen who had Rambo knife used in stabbing

Daniel Kaveh outside Oxford Crown Court A teen pulled out his ‘Rambo’ knife and used it on the man who’d tried to rob him at knifepoint, a court heard. Daniel Kaveh, 19, was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the stabbing in Oxford last November. But the allegations were dropped and, by the time he appeared before the magistrates last month, he faced a single charge of possessing a blade in public. At Oxford Crown Court on Thursday Judge Michael Gledhill QC imposed a 12 month jail sentence but suspended it for two years. Prosecutor Gordon Ross told the court police were called to reports of a stabbing in Lambourn Road, Rose Hill, on November 9 last year. The victim suffered wounds to his chest and leg.

Trial for man accused of Barton knife threats

Oxford Crown Court A man allegedly involved in a knife brawl in which a teen was injured will stand trial in November. Andee Morton, 49, is accused of threatening another with a blade in Underhill Circus, Barton, on June 2. His arrested followed a fight said by police to have involved a number of men. A 19-year-old man suffered injuries to his thumb and arm. He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital but was later discharged. Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday, Morton, of Westlands Drive, Oxford, pleaded not guilty to affray, threatening another with a blade and having a bladed article.

Bullingdon cook accused of having relationship with prisoner

HMP Bullingdon A jail cook has appeared in court accused of having a ‘personal relationship’ with a prisoner. Catering assistant Amanda Swain is said to have been involved with a serving prisoner at HMP Bullingdon before May 2020. The 51-year-old, of Ducklington, near Witney, appeared before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with neglecting to perform her public duty while holding a public office.
