LEWISTON – The state’s newest mobile COVID-19 vaccination unit wrapped up its first stop on a multi-city tour on a quiet note Friday with just a few people showing up in the final hour of the clinic in Lewiston.
The mobile clinic run by Promerica Health of Falmouth and Maine Department of Health and Human Services opened May 7 in partnership with the city. The 1,000-shot capacity clinic vaccinated about 50 people the first day at its site at the municipal parking garage in Lewiston.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced Wednesday that the state will give away $1 million to a lucky vaccinated Ohioan each week for five weeks as part of a bid to push the stateâs COVID-19 vaccination rate higher.
DeWine said that any Ohio adult who has received at least one dose of the vaccine is eligible to win the money. The first drawing will take place on May 26, and a new winner will be drawn each Wednesday after that for the duration of the contest.

As the state is working to get more residents vaccinated, Governor Mills announced a new Your Shot to Get Outdoors initiative.

In hopes to get Maine thriving again and get people outdoors, Maine adults who get their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson between today and the end of May will qualify for one Maine-centric reward according to WMTW.
