Wendover murder investigation: Estranged son of victim John Bamford speaks out

Following the death of 77-year-old John Bamford in Wendover on April 6 this year, many in the community were left saddened and shocked. His passing opened a murder investigation which led to Courtney Bamford, 36, of Griffin Lane, Aylesbury, being charged. His sudden death in tragic circumstances has left a hole in what is a quiet village in the Chilterns, but for one man, the passing of John will hit like no other. Vinnie Lee Stevens (previously Bamford), from High Wycombe, learnt about the shocking incident through the Bucks Free Press article that was published on April 7 – a day after the alleged crime.

Drivers from Wycombe, Gerrards Cross fined for M40 speeding

Bucks drivers have been caught speeding on the M40 Drivers from Bucks who were caught speeding at up to 94mph on the M40 were convicted in the courts last month. Colin Ball, aged 42 of London Road in High Wycombe admitted to driving a BMW at 88mph on the motorway near Beaconsfield, where the speed limit is 70mph, on September 6. He was fined £100 and had to pay £84 costs following a hearing at Oxford Magistrates Court on April 6, as well as having three penalty points added to his licence. Jason Davis, aged 49 and of Hedgerley Lane, in Gerrards Cross, was also caught speeding near Beaconsfield on the same day, travelling at 83mph on the motorway.

Thames Water fines Oxfordshire street cleaning companies for water theft

Two street cleaning companies have been ordered to pay thousands after illegally tapping into Thames Water hydrants in Oxfordshire. The directors of Centurion Power Cleaning and National Road Sweepers pleaded guilty last month to offences under the Water Industry Act 1991 and the Water Supply and Fitting Regulations 1999, which took place last year. The companies were prosecuted by Thames Water after the company caught them using illegal standpipes to take water from hydrants across the county. Marcus Rickard, managing director of Centurion Power Cleaning Ltd, and Munya Chiromo, operations director of National Road Sweepers Ltd, both appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court on March 26.
