Las dos vacunas contra la Covid-19 que se utilizan en Panamá la de Pfizer/BioNTech y la de AstraZeneca/Universidad de Oxford están demostrando en campo su efectividad para evitar la enfermedad grave.
Un estudio del Servicio de Salud del Reino Unido, dado a conocer a finales de junio pasado, indica que las dos dosis de la vacuna de Pfizer/BioNTech y la vacuna AstraZeneca/Universidad de Oxford evitan la hospitalización en un 95% y 86% de los casos, respectivamente, frente a la variante de preocupación Alfa (B.1.1.7), que circula en el país, junto a la variante P.1 (Brasil).
