Oxford Magistrates Court OXFORD MAGISTRATES’ COURT ROBERT MACRAE, 34, of Cypress Gardens, Bicester, admitted driving without third party insurance in Bicester on July 27. He was fined £427, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £43 and court costs of £90. His driving licence was also endorsed with six penalty points. KYRAN MCCARTHY, 18, of Wallin Road, Banbury, was convicted of driving on Queen’s Way, Banbury, without insurance April 16. He was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £88 and court costs of £90. His driving licence was also endorsed with six penalty points. JAMIE ROKINS, 30, of Northcourt Road, Abingdon, admitted assault by beating of a woman on September 20, 2019 and using threatening and abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress on the same day. He was fined £200, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85.

Man spared jail after attempted burglary at Bicester chippy

Coran Bateman, of Mill Close, Charlton-on-Close, appeared in the dock of Oxford Magistrates Court on February 2. The 34-year-old admitted:  burglary with intent to steal at Papilion Fish Bar in Bicester on January 5 going equipped for theft on April 17 after he was found with a hammer, screwdriver, torch, gloves and bike lights  He was jailed for 20 weeks, suspended for 18 months because the offence is so serious . He will also have a curfew under electronic monitoring for eight weeks and must have treatment for his drug dependency under the direction of probation services for 12 months. He must pay compensation of £150.  -

Man jailed for spitting at police officer s face in Oxford

Tobias Webster appeared in the dock of Oxford Magistrates’ Court on January 22. The 38-year-old, of Satler Close, Oxford, was charged with assault by beating a woman and common assault of a police officer on November 30. In the court documents, it said the offences were ‘so serious’ because he made the woman bleed and caused her ‘significant fear’. It also said his spit landed ‘near the police officer’s eye’ and in the ‘current situation is dangerous’. The magistrates jailed him for a total of 22 weeks. He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation and was made the subject of a restraining order which bans him from going into part of Oxford and contacting the victim until 2024.
