Jordanian boxer Rashed Al-Swaisat dies after World Youth championships
JORDANIAN boxer Rashed Al-Swaisat has died following a brain injury after the World Youth championships in Poland.
Al-Swaisat was knocked out in the third round of his first contest in the light-heavyweight division at the tournament and was taken to hospital. He passed away 11 days after being admitted to hospital in Kielce. He was just 18 years old.
“The Jordan Olympic Committee expresses its deep sadness and pain at the death of the national team boxer Rashed Al-Swaisat, who passed away to God’s mercy yesterday evening, Monday, from an injury he suffered during his fight on Friday night, April 16 at the World Youth championships,” the Jordan Olympic Committee stated. “The Jordan Olympic Committee, represented by its chairman Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, and members of the Board of Directors and the Jordanian sports family, mourned the deceased Al-Swaisat and extends sincere condolences to his family

New Delhi, April 28 : The 2021 Asian Boxing Championship, originally scheduled to be held in New Delhi in May, has been shifted to Dubai, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The decision was made due to travel restrictions that several participating nations have announced to India due to the sharp rise in Covid-19 cases in the country. In the wake of international travel restrictions to India, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), in consultation with Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC), has decided to conduct the upcoming 2021 edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships in Dubai. The event will now be organised by BFI in association with UAE Boxing Federation, said the BFI.

Myktybekov is an experienced sports manager. Prior to the appointment held the post of the Judo Federation president, executive director of the Almaty Boxing Federation, Advisor to the Asian Boxing Confederation. He won the title of the World Juniors Sambo Champion. Myktybekov is the winner of the 2000 World Youth Championships, 2002 World Students Championships, and international master of sports.
