Rajeendra Kalugampitiya receives FIDE Trainer Title Daily News (via HT Media Ltd.)
FIDE Master Rajeendra Kalugampitiya was awarded the highest chess Trainer title Sri Lanka possess at present, FIDE Trainer by the World Chess Federation after his performance at the Trainers Seminar conducted online by a trainer panel including former World Chess champion, Anatorly Karpov. Rajeendra is the one and only FIDE Trainer in Sri Lanka. Rajeendra was the National Chess Champion in 2016 and obtained the FIDE Master title later by the FIDE.
The Trainer seminar conducted by the FIDE Trainer Commission was sponsored by the Asian Chess Federation in December 2020 and FIDE made the official announcement of awarding the title last week.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 2020 Asian University Chess
Championship was held virtually on December 14-29 by the National
University Sports Federation of Iran in cooperation with the Asian University
Sports Federation and the Asian Chess Federation.
Mongolian men’s team have
successfully attended the competition and included in the leading section. Among
them, athlete of Mon-Altius Physical Education Institute, FIDE Master E.Enkhnar
won bronze medal with 6.5 scores.
For the other Mongolian athletes, IM U.Agibileg has taken the 21
st place, FIDE Master B.Garidmagnai 29
th
place and L.Bold - the 30
th place respectively.

scored 7.5 points out of 9 rounds to win the gold medal in the individual
championship and power her team to victory in the Asian University Chess
Championship in Chess.com. The tournament is organized by the National
University Sports Federation of Iran under the auspices of the Asian University
Sports Federation in cooperation with the Asian Chess Federation.
A total of 36 female players from 11 countries competed in
the 9-round Swiss System. The tournament is an individual championship combined
with a team competition. The individual scores of the best three players of one
