Asian Wrestling Championships : Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya won Gold Medal

On Saturday,  At Asian Wrestling Championships in Almaty India clinched to another gold. Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya won a gold medal. Let us share here that Dahiya retained his title in the 57kg weight category after he defeated Iran’s Alireza Sarlak 9-4 on Saturday. While informing about this SAI Media tweeted that “Many congratulations to #TOPSAthlete Ravi Dahiya who retains his title in Men’s 57 kg at the Asian Wrestling Championships after beating Iran’s Alireza Sarlak 9-4,”. Here it is needed to mention that On Friday, Vinesh Phogat won her maiden gold at Asian Wrestling Championships after beating her rival Taipei’s Meng Hsuan Hsieh in the final.  The Olympic-bound wrestler had previously clinched three silver and four bronze medals and this is Vinesh’s third gold in three tournaments since her return in March.

India thus end the Asian Championships with seven medals in the men s freestyle event. Deepak lost his first-round bout inside the first period by technical superiority as he was hardly able to hold his defence against Yazdanicharati s flurry of attacks. Sanjeet, meanwhile, almost blew away a comfortable lead against Rustam Shodiev of Uzbekistan. Sanjeet was leading 11-2 at one stage but Shodiev clawed his way back. The Indian managed to hold on to his lead until the end of the bout.
