She taught at Springboro High School for just seven years. But when Patricia McCandless died in 2018, she left her entire estate to the high school.
“We’ve been asking ourselves, ‘Why? Why Springboro High School?’ ” Scott Marshall, communications coordinator for the district said in a release.
Marshall talked to local news organizations and community members, trying to find people who knew McCandless, who worked for the district when the building was called Clearcreek High School.
After speaking with some of McCandless’s close friends, he figured the answer had to be the late Ray Perez, a former school superintendent and an early teacher and mentor for McCandless.

Here are the 2020 inductees into the Forsyth Central Hall of Fame Created by Raquel Arce, Forsyth Central High School

Ever since 2015, the Forsyth Central Alumni Association has chosen four high achievers from a competitive group of nominees to be included in the Forsyth Central Hall of Fame. Current members include former teachers, administrators, and prominent students.
This year’s group is no different; it includes a celebrated musician, star athlete, and others who have made positive contributions to society after having graduated from FCHS.
Due to restrictions surrounding COVID-19, FCAA was unable to hold an in-person induction ceremony this fall, but plan to include the 2020 inductees next year alongside the 2021 class when it is elected. However, the Alumni are some of the most prominent figures of our community, and we wish to honor them in more ways th
