Share Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) celebrated the reopening of its borders for travellers from the Middle East with an intimate dinner event, ’Get Ready For Amazing Thailand 2021’, at Benjarong Restaurant, Dusit Thani Hotel, featuring Thai-inspired remixes by DJ Bliss. The event showcased a live cooking demonstration of Thai Massaman Curry which is recognised as the number one dish by CNN Travel’s ‘The World’s 50 Best Foods’, followed by a Muay Thai ritual performance, ‘Wai Khru Ram Muay’. “We are excited to announce the reopening of our borders after taking all the necessary precautions. The support of public and private sector partners has enabled us to elevate the travel and tourism industry standards with the introduction of the ‘Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration’ (SHA) certificate, developing confidence among international and domestic travellers,” said Pichaya Saisaengchan, director of TAT for Dubai and the Middle East.

Thailand continues to reopen for travellers slowly and safely December 23, 2020 GMT Bangkok, Thailand BANGKOK, Dec. 23, 2020 /PRNewswire/ Thailand’s tourism sector continues to safely and slowly reopen welcoming international travellers to the country with special tourist initiatives, while also remaining vigilant by enforcing strict public health guidelines to protect all during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Royal Thai Government recently lifted restrictions on the Special Tourist Visa (STV), which allows entry for tourists from any country or territory worldwide. Prior to this, STV holders were only allowed from low-risk countries. The STV offers visitors an initial 90-day visa with two extensions totalling 270 days. The STV was also extended to allow arrival by private yacht.
