Auburn Police help with two criminal cases

FORT WAYNE — Auburn Police were involved in the investigation of two cases that resulted in the sentencing of two Fort Wayne men in U.S. District Court recently. Luis Rodriguez-Solorio, 24, of Fort Wayne, was sentenced to nine years in prison, followed by two years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and re-entry of a deported alien. It is anticipated that Rodriguez-Solorio will be deported upon his release from incarceration, according to a news release. Larry Lamb, 40, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was sentenced to 295 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Lamb pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Adams County Convenience Store Robbed Twice in One Week The employees of an Adams County convenience store are frightened after being robbed twice in one week. According to Denver7, an unknown man entered American Gas & Convenience at W. 84th Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on July 1. He then pulled a gun on the cashier and took $400 from the cash register before promising to return. He came back around 2:30 p.m. on Monday (July 5) and stole another $700 from the register. It s very life-threatening until this man gets caught because he said he s going to come back. He did the first time, and I m pretty much sure he will again if he doesn t get caught.

The Adams County Sheriff s Office (ACSO) is investigating Monday night s drive-by shooting as a homicide. Deputies are looking for a suspect accused of shooting a man in the 7600 block of Pecos Street around 8:30 p.m. That is near the Pecos Street exit off US 36 just east of Westminster in Adams County. The man was shot in the chest and taken  to the hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, according to the sheriff s office. ACSO said they don t have a good description of the suspect or the vehicle they were in, only that they were described as driving a white or silver full-sized truck.
