HOLLAND In an effort to ensure local educators can get vaccinated, Ottawa County is dedicating a portion of its weekly COVID-19 vaccine shipments for PK-12 educators.
Vaccines remain in short supply for the county, but the Ottawa County Department of Public Health will use 25 percent of its weekly shipment for educators, with the other 75 percent continuing to go toward those age 65 and older.
While nearly all local schools reopened for in-person learning at the start of the school year, and the CDC says vaccines aren’t required for schools across the country to reopen, vaccines are a tool to help schools stay open and stay safe.
