HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a crash that killed on person at 1:41 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the Nunica rest area in Crockery Township.
Deputies were called to a vehicle fire at the rest area on westbound I-96 and found the vehicle fully engulfed.
Crash investigators believe the driver had been westbound on I-19 but left the right side of the road. The car hit several trees, police said, adding that speed appears to be a factor. The driver was the lone occupant, according to police and that person’s identity is being determined.
